What it is

Kneeling Practice is training in the kneeling position or positions used in the dynamic. The sub practices lowering themselves, placing their knees, feet, hands, back, and gaze, holding the posture, and rising again with control. There is no single correct kneel. The position should fit the Dom’s preference, the purpose of the task, and the sub’s body.

Why it is submissive

The sub learns to place their body in a position chosen or approved by their Dom. Practicing the details shows that the posture matters and that the sub is willing to learn how the Dom wants them to appear. The Dom can set the form, observe progress, and later call for the position during greetings, service, waiting, or scenes.

Why people may like it

Kneeling can make submission feel physical before anything else happens. Some subs enjoy lowering themselves, being below their Dom, or holding a familiar position that helps them focus. Others enjoy the satisfaction of learning to move smoothly and stay composed. Doms may like the visual clarity of the position and the fact that the sub has practiced it rather than improvising each time.

Ways to run it

Resting Kneel
The sub sits back toward their heels or support and practices a position that can be held comfortably for longer.
Upright Kneel
The sub keeps their torso upright over their knees and practices balance, posture, and controlled breathing.
Hand-Placement Practice
The sub repeats the kneel with hands on thighs, behind the back, or in another agreed placement.
Transition Practice
The sub practices moving from standing to kneeling and rising again without rushing or losing balance.
Adapted Kneeling
Cushions, a stool, a chair, wall support, or a different leg position makes the kneel workable for the sub’s body.

How this task works

Kneeling Practice is a training from the protocol & positions chart. This is an in-person task — it needs you and your Dom in the same room. It's a kink task — charged with power exchange, though not explicit.

Beginner-friendly: a good early assignment in a new dynamic. Standard care applies: negotiate first, agree on limits, and check in afterward.
