Task No. 32 of 282
Formal Greeting
Greet your Dom using the agreed words, posture, and order of actions whenever the protocol is active.
What it is
A Formal Greeting is the agreed way the sub greets their Dom when they arrive, reunite, or begin a formal interaction. It may include specific words, a title, kneeling, standing in position, a kiss, taking a coat or bag, or waiting to be acknowledged. The greeting is the whole sequence, not any one gesture, and it can be as simple or elaborate as the couple wants.
Why it is submissive
The sub does not approach the moment entirely on casual instinct. They follow the greeting their Dom has chosen and wait for the Dom to receive or acknowledge it. The Dom controls when the greeting is complete and may use that moment to give the first instruction.
Why people may like it
A formal greeting can make an ordinary arrival feel immediately different. The familiar sequence may help the sub move into role, while the wait for acknowledgement adds anticipation. Because greetings happen at moments of reunion, they can also feel affectionate or devotional rather than merely strict. Doms may enjoy being deliberately received, and subs may enjoy having a clear way to show that the Dom’s arrival matters.
Ways to run it
- Standing Greeting
- The sub uses the agreed words and posture while standing, then waits for acknowledgement before speaking casually.
- Kneeling Greeting
- The sub kneels in the chosen position and remains there until the Dom accepts the greeting.
- Return-Home Greeting
- The sub meets the Dom at the door and may take their coat, bag, shoes, or another item.
- Silent Greeting
- The greeting is performed through posture, touch, eye contact, a bow, or a service gesture without spoken words.
- Scene-Opening Greeting
- The formal greeting begins a scene and ends with the Dom giving the first position or instruction.
How this task works
Formal Greeting is a ritual from the protocol & positions chart. This is an in-person task — it needs you and your Dom in the same room. It's a kink task — charged with power exchange, though not explicit.
Beginner-friendly: a good early assignment in a new dynamic. Standard care applies: negotiate first, agree on limits, and check in afterward.
