Punishment No. 60 of 204
Hold Your Arms Out
Hold both arms extended away from your body and keep them at the required height.
Extra care required. This punishment carries more risk than standard play. Make sure both people understand the specific activity, agree on limits and intensity beforehand, and have a clear way to stop.
What it is
Holding the arms out requires the submissive to keep both arms extended away from the torso as an endurance consequence. They may be stretched sideways in a T-shape, held straight forward, or placed at another agreed angle. The Dom defines the height and hand position that must be maintained. Unlike an object-holding punishment, the arms support only their own weight. The task is preserving the shape as fatigue makes the limbs want to sag.
What makes it punishing
The arms become their own burden. Shoulder fatigue builds while gravity keeps pulling the hands downward, and the sub has to notice and correct every slow drop. That makes failure visible before the position is completely lost. The punishment can feel relentless because relief is physically simple—lower the arms—but doing so would mean disobeying the command.
Why Dominants Choose It
Arms-out punishment gives the Dominant an unusually clear standard. A hand that sinks, an elbow that bends, or one side dropping lower can be seen immediately. The Dom can therefore make precision part of the correction rather than merely asking the sub to endure discomfort. Its simplicity can also be appealing: no equipment is needed, and the submissive’s own body makes the order progressively harder to obey.
Ways to run it
- Sideways T Hold
- Both arms extend sideways at shoulder height, creating a strict horizontal line across the body.
- Forward Arm Hold
- The arms stay straight in front of the body rather than extending out to the sides.
- Diagonal Hold
- The Dom sets the arms at an upward or downward diagonal and requires that angle to remain consistent.
- Palms-Up Hold
- The arms stay extended while the palms face upward, giving the position a more open presentation.
- Kneeling Arms Out
- The sub maintains the arm position while kneeling, combining shoulder endurance with a lowered posture.
How this punishment works
Hold Your Arms Out is from the positions & physical endurance category. This is an in-person punishment — it needs you and your Dom in the same room. It's a kink punishment — charged with power exchange, though not explicit.
Intermediate: best once you've built trust, protocol, and a track record together.
