Receive a negotiated combination of sound, touch, vibration, light, or stimulation until the agreed stopping point.
What it is
In this scene, the Dom combines several pre-negotiated stimuli so the sub cannot give full attention to all of them at once. Sound, touch, vibration, light, safe temperature contrast, or repeated stimulation may be added one element at a time while the Dom controls the overall intensity. The scene has an agreed endpoint and a communication system that remains simple enough to use while overwhelmed. The Dom stops or reduces the input if the sub becomes panicked, nauseated, disoriented, unresponsive, or unable to communicate clearly.
Why it is submissive
The scene places the sequence and volume of incoming sensation under the Dom’s authority. The sub cannot choose which stimulus receives attention next and relies on the Dom to keep the overwhelm within the negotiated experience. The Dom decides when another layer is added, removed, or ended.
Why people may like it
Multiple sensations can create an immersive state in which the sub stops analyzing each input separately. Some enjoy the loss of mental control, the disorientation, or the feeling that the Dom occupies every available channel of attention. Others like the contrast when one stimulus suddenly disappears and another becomes dominant. Doms may enjoy orchestrating the environment and watching the sub’s reactions change as the layers build.

- Music, white noise, or repeated sound is layered with a changing pattern of touch.
- Vibration and Blindfold
- Sight is removed while the Dom varies vibration and other agreed tactile input.
- Texture Sequence
- Several contrasting safe textures are applied in quick succession or overlapping patterns.
- Several Short Rounds
- Brief overload rounds are separated by complete pauses and clear reassessment.
- Add One, Remove One
- Each new stimulus replaces another so the scene remains intense without becoming uncontrolled.

Receive Sensory Overload is a scene task from the sensory control & body control chart. This is an in-person task — it needs you and your Dom in the same room. It's an explicit task, for adults in a negotiated sexual dynamic.
