What it is

The Dom selects one posture and defines the details the sub must maintain for the assigned time. The position may be standing, kneeling, seated, bent over, or supported, with the hands, legs, back, or gaze arranged in a specific way. Small corrections are allowed when the Dom requests them, and the posture can be adapted to the sub’s body. Unlike Stillness Training, the central requirement is preserving the chosen shape rather than avoiding every movement.

Why it is submissive

The sub lets the Dom decide how the body occupies the space and remains in that arrangement until released. Holding the position makes the Dom’s authority visible and gives the Dom time to observe, approach, or use the presented body. The sub follows corrections rather than quietly changing the form for personal comfort or appearance.

Why people may like it

A clearly defined posture can make submission feel physical and immediate. Some subs enjoy the challenge of maintaining form while waiting, especially when the Dom is watching for small changes. The position may create anticipation because the purpose of the arrangement is not always revealed at once. Doms may enjoy composing the body and seeing the sub remain available inside that choice.

Ways to run it

Standing Display
The sub holds a chosen standing posture while the Dom observes or approaches.
Kneeling Hold
The sub maintains an agreed kneeling or adapted posture for the assigned period.
Bent-Over Position
A stable surface supports the sub while the Dom controls the body’s presentation.
Arms-Position Challenge
The Dom chooses a safe arm placement that the sub maintains with the rest of the posture.
Mirror-Checked Position
The sub sees the chosen shape in a mirror before turning attention back to the Dom.

How this task works

Hold a Position is a challenge from the sensory control & body control chart. This is an in-person task — it needs you and your Dom in the same room. It's a kink task — charged with power exchange, though not explicit.

Beginner-friendly: a good early assignment in a new dynamic. Standard care applies: negotiate first, agree on limits, and check in afterward.
