Task No. 118 of 282
Meal Permission
Ask before beginning a meal during the chosen period, then follow any agreed dining protocol.
What it is
Meal Permission requires the sub to ask, or wait for an agreed signal, before taking the first bite of a meal. It may apply to one dinner, all meals for a day, or only meals shared with the Dom. The core task concerns when eating begins. Choosing the menu, controlling portions, serving the meal, or setting posture are separate rules that may be added but are not required.
Why it is submissive
The sub pauses at a moment that would normally be automatic and waits for the Dom to acknowledge or authorize it. The Dom controls the beginning of the meal, whether through words, a gesture, or taking the first bite. The sub’s attention shifts away from simply satisfying hunger and toward the agreed relationship rule for that moment.
Why people may like it
A meal is ordinary enough that a small permission rule can make the dynamic feel present without turning the whole day into protocol. Sitting with food ready and waiting for the signal may create anticipation, formality, or a visible sense of hierarchy. During a shared meal, the Dom beginning first can feel ceremonial. At a distance, a brief request can turn a routine part of the day into a deliberate point of contact.
Ways to run it
- Ask Before the First Bite
- The sub requests permission immediately before beginning each covered meal.
- Wait for the Dom to Begin
- During shared meals, the sub does not start until the Dom takes the first bite.
- Formal Meal Request
- The sub uses agreed wording, title, or posture when asking to begin eating.
- Remote Meal Permission
- The sub sends a message or photo and waits for an answer before starting.
- One-Day Meal Protocol
- Every meal during a chosen day begins only after the required request or signal.
How this task works
Meal Permission is a rule from the obedience & permission chart. It works in person or apart, so long-distance dynamics can run it too. It's a nonsexual task: structure and submission, no sexual content required.
Beginner-friendly: a good early assignment in a new dynamic. Standard care applies: negotiate first, agree on limits, and check in afterward.
