Task No. 157 of 282
Receive a Paddling
Take the chosen position and receive the agreed paddle scene.
What it is
For a paddling, the sub takes the agreed position and receives impact from a broad, rigid or semi-rigid implement. The Dom and sub should know which paddle is being used, because leather, wood, weight, thickness, flexibility, holes, and edges all change the result. The implement is checked before play, and the scene begins at a level that allows the Dom to judge its actual effect on the body. A paddle is not simply a louder version of the hand.
Why it is submissive
The sub presents for an implement that makes the Dom’s authority visually and audibly obvious. They accept the Dom’s control over placement, rhythm, and the cumulative build of the scene while remaining honest about how the paddle is landing. The Dom chooses the implement and adapts the scene to what that specific paddle actually does.
Why people may like it
The paddle can create a strong ceremonial or disciplinary atmosphere before it ever touches the body. Some subs enjoy the broad impact, the sound, the suspense of seeing the implement, or the contrast between leather and wood. The rigid shape may make each strike feel more formal and deliberate than hand spanking. Doms may enjoy the precision, visibility, and dramatic presence of the paddle.
Ways to run it
- Leather Paddle
- A flexible or semi-rigid leather paddle creates its own balance of sound, sting, and broader impact.
- Wooden Paddle
- A rigid paddle is used only after its weight, surface, edges, and effect are understood.
- Counted Paddling
- The sub receives a negotiated number of strikes with pauses as needed.
- Over-the-Knee Paddling
- The sub lies across the Dom’s lap while the paddle replaces the hand.
- Hand-to-Paddle Progression
- The Dom begins with hand spanking and introduces the paddle after the target area is warmed.
How this task works
Receive a Paddling is a scene task from the impact, pain & endurance chart. This is an in-person task — it needs you and your Dom in the same room. It's a kink task — charged with power exchange, though not explicit.
Intermediate: best once you've built trust, protocol, and a track record together. Risk level is heightened — negotiate carefully, agree on stop signals, and plan aftercare before you start.
