Task No. 68 of 282
Confess a Broken Rule
Report the rule you broke, what happened, and whether you hid or delayed the confession.
What it is
A confession reports an actual broken rule before the Dom has to discover or extract the truth. The sub states what happened, when it happened, what they understood the rule to require, and whether they delayed or concealed the report. Relevant context can be included, but it should not be used to make the violation sound as though it never occurred. Confession begins the accountability process; apology, repair, or consequence may follow separately.
Why it is submissive
The sub chooses honesty even when hiding the event would feel safer or easier. They place the facts in the Dom’s hands and accept that the Dom will decide what questions, repair, or response is appropriate. Admitting any delay or concealment also prevents the sub from presenting a cleaned-up version that protects them from full accountability.
Why people may like it
Coming clean can end the tension of waiting to be found out. Some subs experience the confession itself as an intense act of submission because they voluntarily expose something that may disappoint the Dom. The truth also gives the pair a chance to address why the rule was broken rather than arguing over incomplete facts. Doms may value the difference between a sub who makes a mistake and reports it and one who makes the same mistake into a larger breach of trust by hiding it.
Ways to run it
- Immediate Confession
- The sub reports the violation as soon as they realize it happened rather than waiting for the next routine check-in.
- Written Confession
- The sub gives a factual written account when speaking immediately would lead to minimizing or omitting details.
- Confession With Timeline
- The report lists the rule break, the time it occurred, when the sub decided to disclose it, and any delay.
- Confession Plus Proposed Repair
- After stating the facts, the sub suggests one practical way to repair the original failure.
- Rule Review After Confession
- Once the report is complete, the pair separately discusses whether the rule remains clear, realistic, and useful.
How this task works
Confess a Broken Rule is a accountability from the bratting, discipline & accountability chart. It's long-distance friendly: messages, photos, or a call are all it takes, which makes it a favorite for online and distance dynamics. It's a nonsexual task: structure and submission, no sexual content required.
Beginner-friendly: a good early assignment in a new dynamic. Standard care applies: negotiate first, agree on limits, and check in afterward.
