Task No. 39 of 282
Ask to Be Put Back in Place
Tell your Dom when you are deliberately pushing because you want a firm response or correction.
What it is
This task asks the sub to stop hinting and say plainly that they are pushing because they want a firmer response. The request may be made through a direct sentence, a code phrase, a kneeling posture, or a message the pair already recognizes. The sub should name what they are asking for—such as one firm command, a protocol reset, or a short brat-taming scene—rather than expecting the Dom to infer it from escalating behavior. The Dom can accept, modify, postpone, or decline the request.
Why it is submissive
The sub admits both the provocation and the desire underneath it, which gives up the safety of pretending they were only being difficult. They ask the Dom to take a stronger lead while leaving the actual response in the Dom’s hands. That honesty keeps the sub from secretly manufacturing a punishment or forcing the Dom into a style they did not choose.
Why people may like it
Being direct can preserve the intensity of brat play while removing the confusion around what the sub actually wants. Some subs find it vulnerable to admit that they need firmness, attention, or a clearer sense of being placed beneath the Dom. The request may also create anticipation because the Dom now knows the desire but still chooses how to answer it. Doms may appreciate receiving a usable signal instead of having to decide whether the behavior is play, distress, or genuine disrespect.
Ways to run it
- Code Phrase
- The sub uses a private phrase that means they are deliberately pushing and want the Dom to respond more firmly.
- Kneeling Request
- The sub kneels and directly asks the Dom to reassert the roles or give one clear command.
- Written Request
- A message explains the pushing behavior, the response the sub wants, and whether the request is immediate or for later.
- Protocol Reset
- The sub asks the Dom to place them into an established posture, title, or response sequence to restore the dynamic.
- Short Brat-Taming Scene
- The pair negotiates a brief scene focused specifically on meeting the sub’s request for firmer handling.
How this task works
Ask to Be Put Back in Place is a communication task from the bratting, discipline & accountability chart. It works in person or apart, so long-distance dynamics can run it too. It's a kink task — charged with power exchange, though not explicit.
Beginner-friendly: a good early assignment in a new dynamic. Standard care applies: negotiate first, agree on limits, and check in afterward.
