Task No. 9 of 282
Position Training
Practice a chosen set of submissive positions until you can enter and hold each one cleanly.
What it is
Position Training builds a small repertoire of postures the sub can enter, hold, and leave on cue. The Dom first defines each position—including the hands, legs, back, gaze, and purpose—then the sub practices both the individual forms and the transitions between them. The positions should be adapted to the sub’s body rather than copied from a supposedly universal system. Unlike a Presentation or Waiting Position task, this assignment trains the movements before they are used in a real interaction.
Why it is submissive
The sub learns to place and move their body according to a physical language chosen for the dynamic. They respond to the Dom’s cues, accept correction on visible details, and repeat transitions until they no longer need to improvise each movement. The Dom shapes the position set and decides when the sub can perform it reliably.
Why people may like it
A learned position can make submission feel immediate because the body knows what to do before a long explanation is needed. Some subs enjoy becoming smoother and more composed, especially when a transition that once felt awkward begins to feel natural. The practice may also reduce self-consciousness during formal protocol or scenes. Doms may enjoy having a clear set of visual cues and seeing the sub become increasingly responsive to them.
Ways to run it
- Three-Position Beginner Set
- The sub learns three clearly different positions and practices entering, holding, and leaving each one.
- Cue-and-Response Drill
- The Dom calls a position by name or gesture and the sub moves into it without additional explanation.
- Transition Sequence
- Several positions are linked into one smooth sequence so the sub practices the movement between them.
- Mirror or Video Review
- The sub reviews their own posture and transitions before receiving the Dom’s final corrections.
- Adapted Position Set
- Cushions, a chair, wider stances, or alternate hand placements make the same protocol workable for the sub’s body.
How this task works
Position Training is a training from the training & skill building chart. This is an in-person task — it needs you and your Dom in the same room. It's a kink task — charged with power exchange, though not explicit.
Beginner-friendly: a good early assignment in a new dynamic. Standard care applies: negotiate first, agree on limits, and check in afterward.
