Task No. 236 of 282
Share One Fear
Tell your Dom one fear or insecurity that affects your submission and what would help you feel safer discussing it.
What it is
The sub tells the Dom one fear or insecurity that affects their submission and explains what would make the subject easier to discuss. The fear might concern disappointing the Dom, being judged, losing autonomy, asking for needs, failing a task, receiving correction, becoming dependent, or trusting the Dom’s response. The goal is not to make the Dom erase every uncomfortable feeling but to reveal what has been influencing the sub from underneath.
Why it is submissive
The sub lets the Dom see vulnerability that might otherwise be hidden behind obedience, silence, distance, or perfect-looking performance. They give the Dom information that can change how guidance, reassurance, correction, or pacing is handled. The Dom receives the disclosure with greater knowledge of what the sub is risking emotionally by submitting.
Why people may like it
Naming a fear can reduce the power it gains from remaining secret. Some subs discover that the Dom interpreted their withdrawal as disinterest or defiance when it was actually fear of failure or rejection. The disclosure can also show whether vulnerability is met with curiosity and care rather than punishment or contempt. For Doms, understanding the fear may make their authority more accurate because they can respond to the real issue instead of its surface behavior.
Ways to run it
- Written Fear Disclosure
- The sub writes the fear, how it affects their behavior, and what they want the Dom to understand.
- Fear Plus Support Request
- The disclosure includes one specific response that would make the conversation feel safer or more useful.
- Intensity Scale
- The sub rates the fear from one to ten and explains what makes the intensity rise or fall.
- Fear of Failure
- The sub focuses on anxiety about disappointing the Dom, missing expectations, or receiving correction.
- Follow-Up Conversation
- The Dom listens first, then the pair returns to the subject after both have had time to think.
How this task works
Share One Fear is a disclosure from the communication, journaling & disclosure chart. It works in person or apart, so long-distance dynamics can run it too. It's a nonsexual task: structure and submission, no sexual content required.
Beginner-friendly: a good early assignment in a new dynamic. Standard care applies: negotiate first, agree on limits, and check in afterward.
