Task No. 66 of 282
Limit Review
Review your hard limits, soft limits, and uncertainties, then flag anything that has changed.
What it is
During a Limit Review, the sub revisits what is currently off-limits, conditionally acceptable, uncertain, or newly interesting. The review should distinguish a hard no from a soft limit, a temporary boundary, and something the sub simply lacks enough information to judge. Any change in health, experience, trust, triggers, or emotional needs can be added. A limit does not need to move simply because it is being reviewed.
Why it is submissive
Accurate limits give the Dom the information required to make responsible decisions inside the authority they have been given. The sub accepts the vulnerability of stating boundaries, uncertainty, and change without presenting only the answers they think the Dom wants. The Dom receives clearer limits on what may be directed, explored, or discussed further.
Why people may like it
A scheduled review moves difficult boundary conversations away from the pressure of a scene. Some subs feel relief when a vague discomfort becomes a clear no, while others discover that an old limit was tied to a specific condition rather than the activity itself. The process can also show how experience, health, or trust has changed over time. Doms may value having a current map instead of relying on assumptions made months or years earlier.
Ways to run it
- Full Limit Review
- The sub reviews the complete hard-limit, soft-limit, conditional, and uncertain list on a regular schedule.
- One-Category Review
- The review focuses on one area such as bondage, impact, humiliation, sex, roleplay, or public exposure.
- Yes, No, Maybe
- Activities are sorted into clear categories, with notes explaining conditions or questions behind each maybe.
- Temporary Limit Update
- The sub records short-term boundaries caused by health, stress, injury, medication, privacy, or current circumstances.
- Compare With Last Review
- The current list is placed beside the previous version and every meaningful change is discussed.
How this task works
Limit Review is a reflection from the communication, journaling & disclosure chart. It works in person or apart, so long-distance dynamics can run it too. It's a kink task — charged with power exchange, though not explicit.
Beginner-friendly: a good early assignment in a new dynamic. Standard care applies: negotiate first, agree on limits, and check in afterward.
