What it is
Stay in One Place restricts the submissive to a designated spot or small area without physically restraining them. The Dom chooses one ordinary place in the room. It might be beside a chair, at the foot of the bed, or on a marked spot. The sub may be allowed to change posture while staying there. Unlike Corner Time, they do not have to face away. The rule is simply that they do not leave the place chosen for them.
What makes it punishing
The sub is physically capable of moving but has agreed not to. That makes ordinary choices suddenly noticeable. Following the Dom is no longer automatic, and neither is getting something from across the room. The sub cannot simply wander off or choose a different place to sit.
