What it is
Extra Check-Ins temporarily increase how often the submissive must report to the Dominant. A sub who normally checks in once or twice a day might be assigned additional scheduled reports or required to report around a specific responsibility. Each check-in has a clear purpose and the stricter schedule lasts for a defined period. Unlike ordinary check-ins, the increased reporting is itself the consequence: normal independence has been replaced with closer oversight.
What makes it punishing
The loss is independence. The submissive has to interrupt their day more often, remember the added reporting schedule, and make themselves answerable at times when they would normally be left to manage things alone. Every extra report is also a reminder that the Dominant has temporarily decided they need more supervision than usual.
Why Dominants Choose It
Extra check-ins are useful when the breach involved reliability, missed reporting, or poor follow-through.
