What it is
Write an Apology assigns the submissive a written acknowledgment of a specific rule breach or failure. The apology explains what happened and takes responsibility for it. It also states what the sub regrets rather than offering a one-line “sorry.” It can be handwritten or digital and may follow a simple structure set by the Dominant. Unlike a reflection essay, the central purpose is remorse and repair. The sub is writing to the Dom, not analyzing the subject in the abstract.
What makes it punishing
A written apology makes the submissive stay with an uncomfortable subject long enough to put it into complete sentences. They cannot rely on tone, a quick phrase, or the momentum of conversation.
