Ask Permission to Leave the Room
Make the submissive ask permission before leaving the room during the punishment.
What it is
Ask Permission to Leave the Room requires the submissive to ask before leaving the agreed room and wait to be dismissed. The rule can cover one conversation, a service period, or a longer private window. Unlike confinement, the sub is not physically trapped. They can leave when permission is given, but they do not decide on their own when their required presence is finished.
What makes it punishing
The sub cannot simply stand up and end the moment when they feel awkward, bored, impatient, or ready to move on. They have to remain present until the Dominant releases them. That can make departure itself feel earned rather than automatic, especially when the sub strongly wants the interaction to be over.
Why Dominants Choose It
Control over dismissal gives this punishment a formal, disciplinary quality. The Dominant decides when the sub has been present long enough and when they may remove themselves from the interaction. It can be particularly fitting after walking away, storming out, or trying to end a conversation on the sub's own terms because the consequence directly reverses that freedom.
Ways to run it
- Every Departure
- The submissive asks before every ordinary departure from the agreed room until the punishment period ends.
- Formal Dismissal
- The sub requests dismissal using an agreed phrase and leaves only after receiving a clear release.
- Doorway Pause
- The submissive may approach the doorway but must stop there and ask before crossing the threshold.
- One-Room Rule
- Permission is required only when leaving one designated room rather than throughout the entire home.
- Until the Conversation Ends
- The sub remains in the room until the Dominant declares the disciplinary conversation or review complete.
How this punishment works
Ask Permission to Leave the Room is from the permission & choice control category. This is an in-person punishment — it needs you and your Dom in the same room. It's a kink punishment — charged with power exchange, though not explicit.
Beginner-friendly: a possible early consequence in a new dynamic.
