Task No. 210 of 282
Practice an Assigned Skill
Spend a defined period improving a skill your Dom has chosen and demonstrate what changed.
What it is
The Dom chooses one skill and a specific improvement they want the sub to work toward. The skill may involve service, communication, presentation, craft, fitness, organization, or another area relevant to the dynamic. The sub follows a defined practice period and later demonstrates the result through a performance, sample, before-and-after comparison, or completed task. A useful assignment is narrower than a vague command to “get better.”
Why it is submissive
The sub places part of their personal development under the Dom’s direction and commits time to a standard the Dom has chosen or approved. They practice consistently, report obstacles honestly, and allow the Dom to evaluate whether meaningful improvement occurred. The Dom provides the target and feedback rather than demanding progress without guidance.
Why people may like it
A defined skill gives training a visible direction. Some subs enjoy knowing that their effort is shaping them toward something the Dom specifically values, while others respond strongly to accountability and the coming demonstration. The assignment can add useful abilities to the relationship instead of producing tasks that disappear once completed. Doms may enjoy choosing an area of growth and recognizing the sub’s progress with increasingly demanding work.
Ways to run it
- One-Week Practice Plan
- The sub follows a realistic seven-day schedule and demonstrates the skill at the end of the week.
- Fifteen Minutes a Day
- A short daily practice block builds consistency without requiring one exhausting session.
- Before-and-After Demonstration
- The sub records or performs the skill at the beginning and repeats it after the training period.
- Weekly Feedback Session
- The Dom reviews progress at regular intervals and chooses the next detail the sub should improve.
- Choose From Three Skills
- The sub proposes three relevant growth areas and the Dom selects which one becomes the assignment.
How this task works
Practice an Assigned Skill is a training from the training & skill building chart. It works in person or apart, so long-distance dynamics can run it too. It's a nonsexual task: structure and submission, no sexual content required.
Beginner-friendly: a good early assignment in a new dynamic. Standard care applies: negotiate first, agree on limits, and check in afterward.
