Punishment No. 42 of 204

Spread-Eagle Bondage

Remain restrained with your arms and legs held apart until the Dominant releases you.

Extra care required. This punishment carries more risk than standard play. Make sure both people understand the specific activity, agree on limits and intensity beforehand, and have a clear way to stop.

What it is

Spread-Eagle Bondage restrains the submissive with the limbs held away from the body, most often while lying on a bed or another supported surface. The wrists and ankles are typically attached to separate restraint points so the arms and legs cannot be brought back together. The position may be face-up or face-down and can be made wider or narrower. It is the whole-body spread position that defines the punishment, not any single piece of equipment.

What makes it punishing

The sub loses the ability to make themselves smaller or more guarded. They cannot close the legs, pull the arms inward, roll into a more comfortable shape, or choose how exposed they feel. The position can make helplessness unusually visible because the body is not only restrained but deliberately held open and arranged by someone else.

Why Dominants Choose It

Spread-eagle restraint can communicate broad, unmistakable control over the body. Rather than taking away one movement, it fixes several limbs at once and determines the sub’s entire presentation. The openness of the position can add psychological weight too. The submissive is not merely unable to leave; they are also unable to close themselves off from the Dom’s attention.

Ways to run it

Face-Up Spread
The sub lies on their back with wrists and ankles secured outward to separate restraint points.
Face-Down Spread
The same four-limb restriction is used with the submissive lying face-down on a supported surface.
Wide Spread
The limbs are held farther apart, making the imposed openness of the position more pronounced.
Narrow Spread
A less extreme limb angle preserves the same spread restraint while requiring less range of motion.
Three-Point Spread
Three limbs are physically restrained while the fourth must remain where the Dominant directs by command.

How this punishment works

Spread-Eagle Bondage is from the restraint & confinement category. This is an in-person punishment — it needs you and your Dom in the same room. It's a kink punishment — charged with power exchange, though not explicit.

Beginner-friendly: a possible early consequence in a new dynamic.
