Memorize an assigned text and reproduce it from memory to the Dominant’s standard.
What it is
Memorize an Assigned Text requires the submissive to learn a defined piece of material and later reproduce it without looking at the source. The assignment might be a rule, short passage, creed, or poem. The Dominant decides what counts as an acceptable recitation or written recall. This differs from simple rule recitation because the material first has to be learned and retained.
What makes it punishing
The sub cannot finish by simply reading or copying what is in front of them. They have to return to the material until it stays in memory, then face the pressure of being tested. Forgetting a line or losing their place can mean more practice. That combination of repetition, concentration, and evaluation gives the punishment its weight.
Why Dominants Choose It
Memorization lets the Dominant require something to remain with the submissive after the assignment itself is over.
