What it is
Read an Assigned Text Aloud requires the submissive to read a specific passage out loud from beginning to end. The material may be an etiquette passage, a rule from the dynamic, a poem, or another text chosen for the assignment. The wording stays in front of the sub, so this is not a memorization test. The Dominant may also require a particular posture or style of presentation while the passage is read.
What makes it punishing
Reading aloud can turn private discomfort into a performance. The sub has to keep going while the Dominant listens, even if the material feels dull, awkward, or embarrassing to say.
