Redo the Failed Work
Redo work that failed an agreed standard until it is completed properly.
What it is
Redo the Failed Work requires the submissive to repeat a task that did not meet an agreed standard. The Dominant identifies what was wrong and requires the work to be completed again correctly. The entire task may be repeated, or only the part that failed may need another attempt. Unlike Undo and Repeat the Task, the first result here was genuinely inadequate rather than acceptable work deliberately erased for tedium.
What makes it punishing
The frustrating part is that the first round already cost effort, yet it does not count as finished. The sub has to return to the same job and give it more time because they rushed, overlooked something, or missed the standard. That can make careless work feel expensive without adding an unrelated penalty.
Why Dominants Choose It
A redo keeps the consequence tied directly to the original failure. The Dominant does not have to invent a separate punishment when the unfinished business is already obvious: the work still needs to be done properly. It also gives the Dom a clear way to show that agreed standards matter. Completion comes from meeting the expectation, not merely from making an attempt.
Ways to run it
- Full Redo
- The submissive starts the entire assignment again when the first result falls clearly below the agreed standard.
- Failed Section Only
- Only the incomplete or poorly executed part must be repeated after the Dominant identifies the problem.
- Redo After Feedback
- The Dominant gives specific correction first, then the submissive repeats the work using that feedback.
- Second Inspection
- The corrected work is presented again so the Dominant can decide whether the original standard is now met.
- Remote Redo
- A long-distance submissive repeats the failed assignment and sends new proof of the corrected result.
How this punishment works
Redo the Failed Work is from the extra work & corrective service category. It works in person or apart, so long-distance dynamics can run it too. It's a nonsexual punishment: structure and consequence, no sexual content required.
Beginner-friendly: a possible early consequence in a new dynamic.
