New Write feature brings private and shared journaling, daily BDSM questions, mood tracking, and recurring check-ins into the same app Doms and subs use to manage their dynamic.

August 20, 2026 Collared, a relationship app built specifically for adults in consensual Dominant/submissive relationships, has launched a new journaling experience designed to help Doms and subs communicate, reflect, and stay connected to their dynamic over time.

The new feature, called Write, expands Collared beyond the habits, tasks, rewards, punishments, and other forms of structure already available in the app. Users can now keep private journal entries, share selected entries with their partner, respond to BDSM-focused questions, track their mood, and make recurring check-ins part of their relationship.

“We have been building Collared around a simple idea: a D/s app should help partners communicate about their dynamic, not only manage it,” the Collared team said. “The structure of a dynamic is only part of the story. A journal can help you understand what the experience actually meant to them.”

Unlike a general-purpose diary, Write is designed around subjects that regularly come up in BDSM and power-exchange relationships. Its prompt library covers Relationship, Desire, Consent, Scenes, and Roles, giving users questions about everything from everyday connection to fantasies, boundaries, dominance, submission, and experiences they may want to discuss with a partner.

Users can also make journaling part of the ongoing structure of their dynamic. A Dom might assign an evening reflection, a couple might complete a weekly check-in about how their D/s has been feeling, or either partner might write privately after a scene or whenever something is on their mind.

The launch also introduces Daily BDSM Questions, which give couples new conversation starters each day, alongside mood tracking and recurring journal check-ins.

The addition reflects Collared's broader focus on D/s as an ongoing relationship dynamic rather than something limited to individual scenes.

Many of the app's existing features are built around that same idea. Doms and subs can use Collared to establish recurring habits, assign and complete tasks, manage rewards and punishments, share notes, and keep a record of the structure they have created together.

Communication is increasingly becoming another part of that system.

“People in D/s relationships may need to talk explicitly about authority, boundaries, desires, expectations, and how the dynamic itself is changing,” the Collared team said. “Those conversations do not always happen naturally. We want to give couples more ways to start them and more places to capture the things they do not want to lose.”

Alongside the mobile app, Collared also maintains a free online library of submissive task ideas designed to help Doms and subs find activities that fit their particular dynamic.

Collared is available on iOS and Android and can be used for free, with additional features available through Collared Pro.
