Task No. 52 of 282
Define Your Limits for a Third
Map what you would welcome, consider, and refuse in an encounter involving one additional adult.
What it is
The sub creates a practical boundary map for a possible three-person date or scene. It covers what each pairing may do, what all three may do together, and what remains off limits. The record can address kissing, touch, sexual acts, authority, safer sex, photographs, overnight contact, emotional intimacy, information sharing, check-ins, and aftercare. Every participant still negotiates directly before anything happens; the document describes the sub’s current limits and questions rather than consenting on behalf of the group.
Why it is submissive
The sub gives the Dom an unusually honest view of where desire, fear, jealousy, and refusal actually sit. They allow those boundaries to inform the Dom’s planning without pretending submission removes them. The Dom receives a usable framework, while the sub remains responsible for revising or withdrawing consent when circumstances change.
Why people may like it
A detailed limit map can turn a vague fantasy into understandable choices. Some people feel calmer once they separate pairwise contact from activities involving all three participants, or name exactly which forms of intimacy matter most. The exercise may expose desires that were hidden beneath a broad yes or no. Doms may appreciate having enough detail to protect the existing dynamic, screen potential situations, and avoid treating uncertainty as permission.
Ways to run it
- Yes, Maybe, No
- Sort possible activities into clear columns and add any conditions that would change a maybe into a yes.
- Pair-by-Pair Map
- Create separate boundaries for the sub and Dom, sub and third, Dom and third, and all three together.
- Safer-Sex Annex
- Record barrier, testing, fluid-contact, hygiene, and pregnancy-prevention agreements separately from the erotic activity list.
- Emotional Limits
- Focus on kissing, affection, sleepovers, private messaging, future dates, jealousy triggers, and information the sub needs afterward.
- After Meeting Them
- Complete a provisional map first, then revise it only after the potential third has expressed their own interests and limits.
How this task works
Define Your Limits for a Third is a reflection from the group, sharing & nonmonogamy chart. It works in person or apart, so long-distance dynamics can run it too. It's an explicit task, for adults in a negotiated sexual dynamic.
Beginner-friendly: a good early assignment in a new dynamic. Standard care applies: negotiate first, agree on limits, and check in afterward.
