Affiliate terms

You earn 40% of every subscription payment from customers you refer, for as long as they stay subscribed. Renewals count. Price increases count—if we raise prices, your commission rises with them.

Everyone who joins the program now is a founding partner: your 40% rate is locked for life and will never be reduced. If we ever introduce a lower rate for affiliates who join after the founding window closes, that change will never touch you or anyone else who joined before it.

Commission is 40% of the price the customer pays, before app store fees. If a customer pays $10, you earn $4—we don't deduct Apple's or Google's cut, payment processing, or taxes from your share first. What the stores take comes out of our side, not yours.

Your link gives customers 20% off their first payment. Your commission on that payment is 40% of the discounted amount they actually pay. Renewals are at full price, and so is your commission on them.

Attribution runs through your unique link. When someone joins Collared through it, their account is credited to you—and every subscription payment on that account is yours, whether they subscribe that day or six months later, on iPhone or Android.

App Store and Google Play purchases count. There is no web-checkout requirement.

If both members of a couple join through your link and subscribe, you earn on both subscriptions.

If a customer cancels and later resubscribes on the same account, they are still yours. The first link a customer joins through wins and is never overwritten by another affiliate.

If a payment is refunded or charged back, the commission on that payment is reversed. If that puts your balance below zero, the difference is deducted from future earnings. We will never send you a bill.

You are paid monthly, automatically, by PayPal. There is no minimum balance and nothing to request. Commission from a given month is paid by the end of the following month, which gives refunds time to clear.

You can leave the program at any time, and we can end it or part ways with an affiliate at any time. Either way, customers you already referred keep paying you commission for as long as they stay subscribed. The only exception is fraud: fake referrals, self-referrals, or stolen payment methods forfeit the commission tied to them.

Disclose the relationship. Somewhere near your link, tell your audience you earn a commission—“I earn a commission if you subscribe through this link” is enough. We include a disclosure template in your welcome kit. This is an FTC requirement in the US and good practice everywhere.

Use our screenshots, icon, and copy freely. Don't send spam, don't make claims about the app that aren't true, don't refer yourself, and don't run search ads on the “Collared” brand name.

We may update these terms for affiliates who join after the change. Changes are never retroactive: the terms you joined under, including your rate, are the terms you keep.
